GVRDEU Scholarship Awards

The 2010 - 2011 Scholarship Award Application period is now open.  2010 - 2011 applications are now being accepted.

Scholarship Award information:

A Scholarship Award exists in the amount of $10,000 per year, and is broken down into two funds, one for first time applicants in the amount of $6000.00, and another in the amount of $4000.00 for applicants in subsequent years.

 

 

First time applicants:

 

First time applicants are eligible for the award, to be divided equally among applicants, with a maximum of $1000.00 and a minimum of $250.00. Only 24 applications are allowed per year, should more than 24 people apply, Member seniority will be the deciding factor; those refused will be allowed to reapply in the following year as first time applicants.

 

 

Subsequent year applicants:

 

People who have received a scholarship award in the past and are applying in a subsequent year are eligible for an award to be divided equally among applicants, with a maximum of $500.00, and a minimum of $250.00. Only 16 applications allowed per year, should more than 16 people apply, Member seniority will be the deciding factor.

 

No applicant will receive more than $2000.00 in his or her lifetime.

 

Any unused monies will not carry over to the following year. “

 

All applicants must be a Regular Full Time member or dependent and be enrolled either in a Post Secondary Institution for a minimum two year course, or be enrolled in a Certified Trade School.

Application Dates:

Applications are accepted after the first meeting in March.  All applications MUST be received by the June Annual General Meeting, held on the first Wednesday of June. NEW: Please fill out an application form.

All successful applicants will be notified by mail. Cheques will be issued only when confirmation of enrollment is received by the Secretary.
